ECP supported PML-N, PPP & MQM, there was no level-playing-field for all: Sirajul Haq
LAHORE, Feb 11 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) supported Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N), Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM). He said there was no level-playing-field for all.
Sirajul Haq expressed these views during meeting of central leadership at Mansoorah on Sunday. He said the rights of people have been snatched which must be condemned to every extent.
Meeting attended by naib emirs Liaqat Baloch, Rashid Naseem, Dr. Farid Ahmed Piracha, JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim, Deputy Secretary General Azhar Iqbal Hassan, Secretary Information Qaisar Sharif and JI Central Punjab Emir Javed Kasuri.
He said the government which will be formed in the result of spurious election will also be spurious one, adding international institutions and media also raised questions on this election. These elections would further create instability and polarization, he added. He said the Election Commission of Pakistan failed in fulfilling its responsibility.
Sirajul Haq while terming election results as spurious and rigged ones, has demanded of the immediate resignation of election commissioner. He also demanded formation of independent commission for investigation of rigged elections results.
In Karachi, mandate of Jamaat-e-Islami was stolen, he said and added as per independent surveys in the city there was competition between Jamaat-e-Islami candidates and independent candidates supported by PTI. He said there was no MQM at all but it was won by snatching the rights of the people.
Results of far-flung areas were being received while results of very important city were stopped and party which falls on 4rth or 5th number was given number one, he said and added the people of Karachi will not accept this deceptiveness. He said Jamaat-e-Islami is actively staging protest against it.
Sirajul Haq maintained if the Election Commission of Pakistan did not rectify the result the protest could be extended up to head office of ECP, adding if the independent candidates want to join them then they would also be welcomed. He said, “I’m going to Karachi and they would formulate a strategy by meeting local leaders, workers and citizens.” Moreover, he would lead protest demonstration in front of Sindh election commissioner office. Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeemur Rehman the other day has announced to stage sit-in against steeling mandate of Jamaat-e-Islami.
