Results for General Elections continue to poure in; so far independents are at 1st position while securing 91 NA seats, PML-N on 2nd position while securing 64 seats

ISLAMABAD, Feb 09 (SABAH): Results of general elections held for the National Assembly and the four provincial assemblies continue to pour in from across the country. According to the unofficial results announced so far independent candidates while securing 91 National Assembly seats are leading with 1st position, Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) with second position while securing 64 seats, Pakistan People’s Party is on third position while securing 50 seats, MQM-Pakistan is at fourth position while securing 12 seats, PML-Q with three seats and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party and JUI-F have so far won two seats each.  

As per the received results, former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif, former president Asif Ali Zardari, PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Maulana Fazlur Rehman, PML-N President Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N Senior Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif, Hamza Shehbaz Sharif, Abdul Aleem Khan have all won their respective seats. Besides, PML leader Chaudhry Salik Hussain, PPPP leader Syed Abdul Qadir Gilani, and former Speaker National Assembly Assad Qaisar, PTI leader Barrister Gohar Ali Khan also emerged victorious. Moreover, PPP stalwart Syed Khursheed Ahmed Shah has secured his slot in the National Assembly for 8th consecutive time.

Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party chief Sardar Jahangir Khan Tareen faced defeat from Lodhran and Multan from two constituencies, Parvez Khan faced defeat from Nowshera, former chief minister Punjab Chaudhry Parvez Elahi faced defeat from PP-32 Gujrat from Chaudhry Salik Hussaim, Mian Nawaz Sharif faced defeat from NA-15 Mansehra and Maualan Fazlur Rehman faced defeat from Dera Ismail Khan from Ali Amin Gandapur, Sheikh Rashid Ahmed faced defeat from Muhammad Hanif Abbasi. Maulana Fazlur Rehman secured victory from NA-265 Pishin.

The Election Commission of Pakistan has so far received 223 results of the National Assembly seats. Out of these unofficial provisional results, Pakistan Peoples’ Party Parliamentarians won 50 and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz 64, Muttahida Qaumi Movement-Pakistan 12, Pakistan Muslim League-Q has won three seats, while Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam Pakistan and Istehkam-e-Pakistan Party have secured two seats each. Besides, 91 independents also emerged victorious.

So far result of the Punjab Assembly is concerned, the PML-N has secured 126 seats, independents 127, Pakistan Muslim League four and PPPP 10 seats.

The commission announced result of 99 constituencies of the Sindh Assembly. Out of which PPPP won 79, independents 10, MQM-Pakistan seven, Grand Democratic Alliance two, and Jamaat-e-Islami one seat.

The result of 98 constituencies of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Assembly has been received. Out of these seats, independent candidates stood victorious on 83, while PML-N got 5, JUI-P five, Jamaat-e-Islami three and PPPP two seats.

So far result of 26 Balochistan Assembly seats has been received. PML-N remained successful on seven seats, while PPPP 8 and JUI-Pakistan five constituencies. Awami National Party and Balochistan Awami Party emerged victorious on two seats each. Besides, Balochistan National Party-Awami and Jamaat-e-Islami secured one seat each. One independent candidate remained victorious in the election for Balochistan Assembly seats.
