BRUSSELS, Feb 05 (SABAH): In connection with 5th February Kashmir Solidarity Day in Brussels, the capital of Belgium, candles lit in the evening to express sympathy and solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris.
The event held under the auspices of the Kashmir Council EU at Place de l’Albertine near Brussels Train Central Station. During the candle lighting program, a large number of passers-by showed their interest in the problems of the people of Occupied Kashmir and their rights. The organizers of the program informed the people passing through about the Kashmir issue and the atrocities committed by Indian forces on the oppressed Kashmiris. Among the organizers and participants of the program, besides Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed, other personalities were Chaudhry Khalid Joshi, Sardar Mehmood Iqbal, Chaudhry Nasir, Andre Backs, Shazia Aslam, Iftikhar Ahmed alias Pablo, Saleem Memon, Adib Jaral, Syed Aslam Shah, Syed Zahid Shah, Mehr Nadeem and Raja Abdul Qayyum. Meanwhile, Europeans kept coming and asking about Kashmiris. An Italian group visited the candle lights camp and raised the Kashmiri flag in their hands in order express solidarity with the oppressed Kashmiris.
On the occasion, Kashmir Council EU’s Chairman Ali Raza Syed said that Kashmir Council EU organizes the program in Brussels every year on the occasion of Kashmir Solidarity Day. He said that our aim is to express sympathy and solidarity with the oppressed people of Occupied Kashmir and to draw the world’s attention to the sufferings of Kashmiris.
Ali Raza Syed said that we will continue to express solidarity with the oppressed people of Occupied Kashmir. He added, we will maintain the struggle until a logical and fair solution to the Kashmir issue. He further said that the Kashmiri people are peacefully struggling for their right to self-determination and India is inflicting violence and atrocities on the Kashmiri people in Occupied Kashmir through its military. The presence of 800,000 Indian troops in Occupied Kashmir and the implementation of black laws are proof that India has put Kashmiris under severe pressure, but the freedom movement of Kashmiris cannot be stopped by India’s tactics like atrocities and violence and black laws. This struggle will continue until its logical conclusion.
Ali Raza Syed demanded that the international community should play its effective role for the just solution of the Kashmir issue and for the end of Indian atrocities on Kashmiris.
