Murtaza Solangi expresses the hope that future govt will focus on resolving the basic problems of country

LAHORE, Feb 04 (SABAH): Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi has expressed hope that the future government will focus on addressing the basic problems in the country including economic reforms. Murtaza Solangi expressed the hope that the future government will focus on resolving the basic problems of the country including economy. He said that the elections will be held on the date announced by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

Murtaza Solangi was addressing a seminar ‘Political Participation and Empowerment of Youth, Women, Transgender and Cultural Minorities’ organized by Press Information Department (PID) in Lahore on Sunday. He said the caretaker government has been consistent from the day one that elections would be held on the date given by the Election Commission of Pakistan.

He emphasized that minorities are enjoying equal rights in Pakistan and are playing an active role in strengthening Pakistan. He said that the minorities are enjoying equal rights in Pakistan, adding that Pakistan will only strengthen when we will give equal rights to the minorities according to the vision of late Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. He highlighted the importance of youth, women and transgender towards development of the country. Murtaza Solangi expressed the hope that the new government will be enthusiastically move forward the economic reforms agenda and will take steps for enhancing the tax base and improve the governance.

Murtaza Solangi said that the caretaker government is legal and constitutional set up, which will ensure free, fair and transparent elections in the country on 8th February. He said that it has been written in the preamble of the Constitution of Pakistan that this country will be run by the chosen representatives of the people, who will come into power only through elections. He said that instead of all rumours the caretaker government remained steadfast on its point of view regarding the holding of elections.
