If Jamaat-e-Islami voted to power will assign 10-marla houses to governors, ministers & bureaucrats: Sirajul Haq

SARGODHA, Jan29 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has announced that the JI, if voted to power, will assign 10-marla houses to governors, ministers and bureaucrats.

Addressing an election rally in Kot Momin tehsil of Sargodha, he pledged to break the prevailing colonial-era practice of ruling elite residences. What is the logic behind the servants of masses of a country under massive debts using grand palaces, he questioned.

The rulers, he said, are utilizing the public exchequer for their personal protocols and benefits. He urged the voters to choose wisely their representatives in this election. The tested parties, he added, are engaged in friendly wrestling to deceive the people this time again.

They have been looting the resources of Pakistan for decades, he said. “The PML-N and the PPP are the sides of the same coin,” he said, adding voting one is akin to supporting the other. He said the former three-time prime minister sought another term while the PPP chairman believed premiership was his family’s right. He said the people must put the nail in the coffin of dynastic politics.

The JI chief said the JI would eliminate an interest-free economy and ensure equal distribution of resources. The JI, he said, raised a strong voice in favour of the people of Palestine while the others opted for silence. The former ruling parties made a compromise on Kashmir’s cause, he said.

He said the JI would establish the rule of law and justice and hold across-the-board accountability. The former rulers who were seeking more terms instead should be in jail instead of parliament, he said.
