We are ready to take every step for ousting Imran Khan: Bilawal


LAHORE, Feb 05 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) President and Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has said that if we will have to save the country from destruction then we will have to get rid of the current government. Shehbaz Sharif said PPP and PML-N had come to an agreement that “we will have to use all constitutional, legal and political options without any delay” to oust the incumbent government and fix the woes afflicting the country. He said that tabling no-confidence motion is a legal and constitutional option and we have discussed this option seriously today and this option will be taken very seriously in the best interest of the 220 million people of Pakistan and in next few days PML-N and PDM meetings will be held to discuss this option. Shehbaz Sharif said that he will request PML-N Quaid and former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif to summon the Central Executive Committee meeting of PML-N and then we will take the matter at the platform of Pakistan Democratic Movement and after consolations with all the parties of PDM, we will make announcement. Meanwhile Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has said that it is our point of view that the government has lost the masses confidence and now confidence of the parliament should also be withdrawn. He said that PML-N, PPP and Pakistani masses are on the same page that Imran Khan has to go. Bilawal Bhutto said that we are ready to take every step for ousting Imran Khan, adding that for big cause instead of the difference of past we are united.

Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Co-Chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari along with Bilawal Bhutto Zardari arrived at the Model Town residence of Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif in Lahore. PPP Parliamentary Leader in Punjab Assembly Syed Hassan Murtaza was also present on the occasion. Meanwhile PML-N Vice President Maryam Nawaz Sharif, PML-N Vice President and former railways minister Khawaja Muhammad Saad Rafique, PML-N Vice President and Leader of the Opposition in Punjab Assembly Muhammad Hamza Shehbaz Sharif, PML-N Spokesperson Marriyum Aurangzeb and other leader also present on the occasion.

Shehbaz Sharif hosted lunch in honor of Asif Ali Zardari, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and other PPP leaders.

Asif ardari and Bilawal Bhutto expressed well wishes for PML-N supremo Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif’s health and also inquired about Shehbaz, who had recently tested positive for the coronavirus, according to a statement issued by the PPP.

Later on talking to media persons along with Bilawal Bhutto and Maryam Nawaz, Shehbaz Sharif said that he is thankful to Asif Ali Zardari and Bilawal Bhutto for accepting his invitation and visiting his residence. He said that till the achievement of self-determination by Kashmiris from India, each and every child of Pakistan is standing and will continue to remain standing with them. He said that in every manner our political and diplomatic support is with the Kashmiri brethren, adding that our heart beat with them and we will stand with them till the last breath.

Shehbaz Sharif said terrorism started again and terrorist attacks were carried out in Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar and Balochistan, adding that like always our officers and personnel of Pakistan armed forces embraced martyrdom to flush out the terrorists. He said that during the tenures of the PPP and PML-N the operation of Zarb-e-Azb and Raddul Fasad were carried out and terrorism was almost eliminated, adding that the PTI government during the last three and half years put the national action plan in the cold storage. He said that the performance of PTI government against the terrorism and in all other fields is in front of the masses. He said that according to the international surveys Pakistan is the third most expensive country in the world, adding that poverty and unemployment has caused destruction in the country. He said that the people are praying day and night for end of the most failed, corrupt, inefficient and inexperience government. He said that the government has done nothing regarding the progress and development of the country. Shehbaz Sharif said that if we will not become united and agree on the united agenda in this crisis time then the nation will not pardon us.

On the occasion Bilawal Bhutto said that the PTI government is so incompetent that it could not even evolve consensus on the Kashmir issue. He said that the new wave of terrorism is concerning. He said that Shehbaz Sharif being the opposition leader has always kept the opposition in National Assembly united. Bilawal Bhutto said that it is our point of view that the government has lost the masses confidence and now confidence of the parliament should also be withdrawn.

Bilawal said the only valid parliamentary, legal and democratic mechanisms to oust the government were a no-confidence motion and protests. “We have to cast out Imran Khan if we want to save country and Pakistan,” he said. He said that PML-N, PPP and Pakistani masses are on the same page that Imran Khan has to go.

Elaborating on the details of their meeting, Shehbaz said it was discussed how and what kind of coordination could be achieved between the PPP and Pakistan Democratic Movement’s (PDM) announced long marches. He added the matter would be taken to PML-N supremo Nawaz Sharif, PML-N Central Executive Committee and the PDM in next few days and will make joint announcement. Shehbaz said that if we will have to save the country from destruction then we will have to get rid of the current government.

On the no-confidence motion, he said the PPP was always clear about it but the PML-N had a difference of opinion about it. However, he said that now there was consensus “to a large extent” in the PML-N and the party’s central executive committee would decide it in a meeting in a few days after which the matter would be taken to the PDM’s platform.

“We will make an announcement in a few days after consultation with all PDM parties,” he said. Replying a question, Shehbaz Sharif said that whether we are running on signal from last three and half years, adding that the country is moving towards destruction and 220 million Pakistanis have not seen worst economic situation than this.

Questioned on the PPP participating in the PDM’s long march, Bilawal Bhutto said his party had welcomed the announcement and PML-N has welcomed PPP’s long march. “The more our working relationship increases, the better impact it will have,” he said.

Shehbaz was also asked about the PDM’s formation and subsequent split to which he said that “broken hearts can reunite.”

While talking to media on the occasion Maryam Nawaz said that, “Political parties have difference of opinion and clashes also come but the problems and expectations of the people hold us and Bilawal together. We will move forward jointly while forgetting our differences for the betterment of the people.” Replying a question, Maryam Nawaz said that the selected is on his way out.
