Nawaz Sharif fled country through a fake medical report & wants to stay in London on a fake report: Sheikh Rashid


ISLAMABAD, Feb 02 (SABAH): Federal Minister for Interior Affairs Sheikh Rashid Ahmed on Wednesday said that there is no chance of presidential system in the country.

Addressing a press conference, Sheikh Rashid clarified that emergency, no confidence motion, deal or any sort of relaxation is out of question.

The interior minister said that Nawaz Sharif fled country through a fake medical report and wants to stay in London on a fake report. He said that there is no leader in the world who flees from his own country.  It is now being said that PML-N supremo couldn’t get treatment due to coronavirus while opposition is asking people of Pakistan to throng to federal capital amid the pandemic, he added. Sheikh Rashid said that he had said three months are crucial and out of this time one month has passed and two months are remaining, adding that the opposition should come and fulfill its desire. He said that the opposition could not do anything as its wrings and pistons are not working.

He further said that Imran Khan is leaving for an important visit to China where he will discuss China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) and other matters of mutual interest.

Sheikh Rashid also announced that his Saudi counterpart will visit Pakistan on February 7 and will hold important meetings with President and Prime Minister.

About performance of the ministry, he said 87 new NADRA offices were set up during last year in the country. Out of total 87, 23 were set up in Punjab, 11 in Sindh, 18 in KPK, 13 each in Balochistan and AJK. As many as 13 new passport offices would be set up abroad during the current year, he added.

The minister said the government wanted to open 13 new passport offices in Sindh and areas were being located for them. However, he said that they were waiting for the Sindh government’s response in this regard.

He said he had already directed the Chairman NADRA and officials of passport section to visit Sindh and finalize areas for setting up the said offices and centres.

Sheikh Rashid said that letters have been written to the Chief Secretaries and Inspector Generals of Police to stay alert regarding law and order situation in the country. He said we are prepared to deal with the law and order situation. He said no talks are going on with the TTP as its demands are not acceptable.

The Interior Minister said Saudi Interior Minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Saud bin Naif is visiting Pakistan next week during which he will also hold talks with important personalities including Prime Minister Imran Khan and President Arif Alvi. He said both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia enjoy longstanding relations.

Responding to a question, the Interior Minister said Prime Minister Imran Khan is the only leader which is speaking about humanitarian crisis in Afghanistan.
