General Elections 2024 in Pakistan are expected to generate a minimum of Rs. 80 billion economic activities in country
ISLAMABAD, Dec 28 (SABAH): The General Elections 2024 in Pakistan are expected to generate a minimum of Rs. 80 billion economic activities in the country.
Some 7713 candidates contesting general elections on National Assembly general seats, are expected to incur Rs. 28.698 billion as election expenditures. Election Commission has set a minimum and maximum target of election expenditures for one candidates i.e. Rs.4 million.
Similarly, 18,546 candidates contesting elections on four Provincial Assemblies with minimum and maximum per candidate’s election expenditures of Rs.2.5 million, are expected incur election expenditures to the tune of Rs.50.76 billion.
The political economy experts believe that the actual election expenditures are expected to run over the minimum and maximum limit set by the Election Commission and would result in to the income and expenditures to the tune of 200 billion in the forthcoming general elections in the country. This would result in creation of few million temporary job opportunities for daily wages workers especially the un-employed youth in the country till the completion of the general elections.
Some 393 Non-Muslims are participating in general elections in all four provincial assemblies and some 150 Non-Muslim Candidates are to participated in the general election 2024 for National Assembly on reserved seats.
Some 25,880 male candidates are participating in the general elections, on National Assembly general seats, four Provincial Assemblies seats and seats reserved for Non-Muslims.
Similarly, some 3,107 fe-male candidates are participating in the general elections, on National Assembly general seats, four Provincial Assemblies seats and seats reserved for Non-Muslims.
