Human race is responsible for the change in the climate and global warming: President Alvi
KARACHI/ISLAMABAD, Dec 23 (SABAH): President Dr. Arif Alvi has emphasized the need of joint efforts to mitigate effects of global warming and climate change.
Speaking at a Climate Change Conference in Karachi on Saturday, President Dr. Arif Alvi said the human race is responsible for the change in the climate and global warming. He emphasized that attitudes need to be changed.
He said we have used the world’s resources for centuries without thinking of consequences but now is the time that we take the matter seriously and stop the wastage of these resources. He said we need to think about alternate measures to decrease the wastage at all costs.
Meanwhile President Dr. Arif Alvi has emphasized the need to mitigate the adverse impacts of global warming to leave a better world for our future generations.
He expressed the views while addressing a conference on Climate Change in Karachi on Saturday. The President said corporate sector has a larger responsibility in this regard for stopping wastage.
He said we also need to take solid measures in regard with the dumping of sewage in the oceans which is affecting marine life and the production of fish.
Meanwhile President Dr. Arif Alvi has expressed condolences with the bereaved families of martyrs of Pakistan Army who laid down their lives in North Waziristan and Balochistan. During separate telephonic conversations with the bereaved families of the Pakistan Army personnel martyred on 22nd November in Razmak, North Waziristan and on 3rd November in Pasni, Balochistan, President Alvi expressed his sympathies with the heirs of the martyrs.
President Alvi paid rich tribute to Lance Naek Ahsan Badsha and Lance Naek Sajid. President Alvi on behalf of the nation also presented rich tribute to Lance Naek Pardam Wali on presenting sacrifice. President Alvi paid tribute to the vallour of the martyrs and their love for the motherland. President Alvi prayed for higher ranks in paradise for the martyrs and courage for the bereaved families to bear this irreparable loss.
