Sirajul Haq officially submits his nomination papers for NA-6 Dir Lower
LAHORE, Dec 22 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has officially submitted his nomination papers for NA-6 Dir Lower, marking his candidacy for a national assembly seat in his hometown, according to Qaisar Sharif, the Secretary of Information for JI.
The statement, released from Mansoorah on Friday, said that JI Secretary General Ameerul Azim is running for the Jamaat from NA-126 Lahore, while JI Naib Emir Liaqat Baloch has filed his nomination papers for NA-128 Lahore. Additionally, JI Punjab Central Emir Javed Kasuri is the Jamaat’s candidate for NA-124 Lahore.
Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman, the Karachi Emir, has entered the race as the JI candidate for NA-250 and PS 129 Karachi Central, as well as NA-246 Karachi West, having submitted nomination papers for two national assembly seats and one provincial assembly seat.
JI Emir KP Professor Muhammad Ibrahim Khan is contending for NA-39 Bannu, and JI Naib Emir KP Maulana Ismael has filed nomination papers for NA-7 Dir Lower.
Following the submission of his nomination papers in Timergara, Lower Dir, Sirajul Haq addressed local media, calling upon the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) to ensure free and fair elections. He emphasized that compromising transparency would only deepen instability in the country. He stressed that genuine peace and stability could only be achieved through the election of a government with strong public support. He advocated for the removal of institutional interference in elections and politics, while also demanding a level playing field for all political participants.
Sirajul Haq expressed the nation’s rejection of foreign influence and wealth in elections, pledging that JI would work towards transforming the country into a welfare Islamic state once in power.
