JKLF is disappointed & expresses its displeasure over the decision of Supreme Court of India on Article 370: Muhammad Rafiq Dar

ISLAMABAD, Dec 11 (SABAH): Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front (JKLF) feels disappointed over the decision of Supreme Court of India (SCI) on Article 370 issued on Monday. In its preliminary spontaneous reaction on the decision, the JKLF Chief Spokesman, Muhammad Rafiq Dar, termed the decision as unrealistic, distortful of facts, one sided and anti-people.

The spokesman in his statement issued from party’s central information office accuses the judges of SCI of toeing the dictates of the current extremist government of India and remaining hand in glove in usurping the rights of the people of the State of Jammu Kashmir. While distorting the historical facts of the issue and ignoring the hard ground realities of Jammu Kashmir the SCI, like in the past many cases, have proved that it is an institution ready to safeguard the false claims of the governments in power instead of providing justice and safeguarding the rights of people, the spokesman blamed.

The spokesman said that the SCI can in no way justify its decision of terming the abrogation of Article 370 of 5th August, 2019 correct and in accordance with the law, as the State of Jammu Kashmir has never been an integral part of India and that the basis of Article 370 was a so-called temporary instrument of accession, that too till the final dispossession of the State is reached upon with the exercise of unfettered right to self-determination by the State Subjects.

While rejecting the decision of SCI on Article 370, Muhammad Rafiq Dar reiterated to continue the peaceful struggle till the complete independence of the State of Jammu Kashmir is achieved. He said that this decision has no bearing on the valiant people of the State, from across the ceasefire line and abroad, who have rendered unprecedented sacrifices for the sacred cause of national independence.

Muhammad Rafiq Dar affirmed that JKLF in its highest decision making body, The Supreme Council, meeting shall soon come up with a renewed strategy on the issue. Analyzing the situation to confront ahead and for a common cause to achieve, the spokesman appealed for unity among the dispersed cadre of JKLF and expects a sincere and serious role from the leadership at the helm of affairs.
