‘Universal Declaration of Human Rights’ is undermined in Kashmir & Palestine: Farooq Rehmani

ISLAMABAD, Dec 10 (SABAH): “Inspite of the United Nations commitment to uphold, protect and promote the human rights of every individual and nation, the articles of its Charter and manifesto are being violated and undermined by some selfish members of this world body, deplored Muhammad Farooq Rehmani, Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference AJ&K in a statement on the occasion of the Universal Human Rights Day on Sunday.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that the commitment stems from the HRC, but that was trampled by some states like India and the Zionist rulers in Kashmir and Philistine. Denouncing strongly India’s colonial rule and settler-policy, extension of Indian laws, changing delimitation rules, issuing domicile certificates of Kashmir to the Indian citizens and confiscating inherited and legal properties of the natives in Jammu and Kashmir, and continuing her horrible rule by killings, persecutions and imprisonment of the people to change the Muslim majority character of the region, he urged upon the UN Secretary General to take cognizance of the horrifying conditions and invoke the UNCIP resolutions to hold plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir for a peaceful and durable settlement of Kashmir issue.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani equally lamented the worst Human rights conditions in Palestine, strongly denouncing Zionist rulers and their supporters in the UN, he said that on one side the Secretary General Antonio Guterres declared the Palestinian conditions as mirroring Hell on the Earth, while on other hand the UN was not taking bold decisions against the Perpetrators of genocide of the innocent Palestinians as the Security Council took when the US and NATO invaded Afghanistan and Iraq. He said that rights of children and women were killed by killing and expelling them and their parents from Gaza and other parts of Palestine. “The enormity of war in Palestine is most horrendous and an illegitimate Israel and her western supporters are responsible for it,” he stated.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani emphasised on the UN to give preference to save’- humanity principles and take risks for this sacred mission, without which, the organisation was doomed.
