Emir Sirajul Haq calls for establishment of an international fund to aid people of Palestine

ISLAMABAD, Dec 06 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Emir Sirajul Haq has called for the establishment of an international fund to aid the people of Palestine.

Speaking at the Masjid-e-Aqsa Conference on Wednesday, he unequivocally rejected proposals for a two-state solution to the Palestine issue. He criticized the caretaker prime minister’s tweet suggesting this idea, deeming it a contradiction to Pakistan’s official policy and the clear vision of Quaid-e-Azam regarding Palestine. He emphasized that Israel is an illegitimate state, established by imperialistic forces on land belonging to the Palestinian people.

Expressing dismay over the silence of Islamic state leaders concerning Israeli atrocities in Gaza, he lamented the thousands of innocent lives lost Gaza in Zionist forces’ bombardments and the United Nations is powerless to stop it. He pointed out that the US and other Western powers were supporting the ruthlessness of occupying forces, contrary to the sentiments of their own people. He asserted that Muslim rulers remained silent due to fear of the US.

Advocating for a diplomatic and economic boycott of Israel, he urged Muslim countries to swiftly enforce this decision. He asserted that the people of Palestine have the right to resist for their freedom.

Highlighting Jamaat-e-Islami’s efforts for the Palestinian cause, he mentioned the party’s pro-Palestine million marches in various cities and the establishment of a Gaza Fund. He told the participants about his personal visits to different countries to seek government assistance for the people of Gaza, vowing that Jamaat-e-Islami would persist in its efforts to support the Palestinian cause.

Expressing concern over reports of sexual violence against Dr. Afia in a US prison, Sirajul Haq demanded that the Pakistan government took the matter at the international level. He criticized the so-called champions of human rights for mistreating a woman in jail and asserted that Jamaat-e-Islami would work towards bringing Dr. Afia back to Pakistan once in power.
