Eight persons killed, nine others injured in two separate firing incidents in Quetta & Dera Bugti
QUETTA/DERA BUGTI, Jan 28 (SABAH): At least four people including a father and son were killed in a firing incident in Quetta’s Sariab Road area on Friday. Police sources said armed men opened fire and killed four people inside the vehicle.
The victims were identified as Ghulam Nabi, Ghulam Sarwar, Mehrab Khan and Maqbool Ahmed.
A passerby was also injured in the incident. Rescue workers shifted the wounded people to hospital Quetta for medical assistance. Police reached the spot and launched probe into the incident.
On the other hand, the assailants managed to flee the spot. Police said the incident appeared to be the result of an old enmity. Panic prevailed in the area after the attack.
Meanwhile at least four people were martyred while eight others sustained severe injuries in an attack in Mat, area of Sui on Friday.
According to details, Senator Mir Sarfraz Khan Bugti took to social-networking website Twitter and posted, “Four people were martyred while eight others were injured in an attack in Mat area of Sui, Balochistan.”
“Baloch Republican Army terrorists were behind this attack. I would like to know for how long the state will continue to tolerate such attacks on innocent people,” he added.
Mir Safraz Bugti said that among four martyrs, one was his cousin Sain Bux, who is father of four kids. Provincial and Federal Governments of Pakistan are failing to protect innocent people, he stated.
The senator further said, “This kind of situation will push people to take measures on their own. Writ of government needs to be implemented in Balochistan.”
