Students’, Baloch tribal elders delegations visit parliament, meet Chairman Senate Sadiq Sanjrani

ISLAMABAD, Nov 23 (SABAH): A 60-member delegation comprising Balochistan youth and tribal elders visited the Parliament House on Thursday. The Chairman Senate, Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani, extended a warm welcome to the delegation during their visit, addressing them at a luncheon ceremony.

Chairman Senate congratulated the tribal elders for their effective role in conflict resolution through the Jirga system, emphasizing the system’s vital role in addressing conflicts within tribal societies promptly.

Recognizing the untapped potential among the youth of Balochistan, Chairman Senate stressed their important role in fostering business and commercial activities in the region. In attendance at the event were Senators Prince Ahmed Omar Umerzai, Haji Hidayatullah Khan, Naseebullah Bazai, Dilawar Khan, Umar Farooq, and Bahramand Khan Tangi.

The delegation visited Senate Museum, where they viewed a documentary on the history of the Upper House. Expressing interest in the statues and historical photographs of prominent politicians, the delegation gained insights into the workings of the Upper House through a detailed briefing in the Senate Hall.

Meanwhile, a 35-member delegation from the University of Turbat Law Department also visited the Parliament House. The Chairman extended his best wishes and suggested the visit of Senate Standing Committee on Law and Justice to Turbat University.

Amidst the backdrop of swift global transformations, the Chairman underscored to fortify business and the economy for international competitiveness. He emphasized the pivotal role of Gwadar as an economic hub for the region. He observes that education and business can help bolster the economy.

Calling for a unified front in pursuit of provincial progress, he highlighted Baluchistan’s rich natural resources, urging collaborative efforts. The Chairman called for promotion of corporate sector to attract investments, stressing the need for a conducive environment in Balochistan. Encouraging a collective pledge, he urged all stakeholders to collaborate earnestly for the development of both Balochistan and Pakistan.

The visiting delegation found the experience enriching while highlighting objective of the visit to gain insights into legislative processes, roles, and the pivotal role of the upper house. Additionally, they visited Senate Hall and Museum during their visit.
