Jamaat-e-Islami will take part in general elections on the symbol of ‘scale’: Liaqat Baloch

RAWALPINDI, Nov 16 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has said that Jamaat-e-Islami will take part in general elections on the symbol of “scale”. He said that work on nomination of candidates and central parliamentary board in light of suggestions of districts and provinces has been completed.

Liaqat Baloch expressed these views while addressing an important meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Punjab regarding elections 2024 held in Qurtaba City Conference Hall. The event was organized under the chairmanship of Northern Punjab Emir Dr. Tariq Saleem.

Liaqat Baloch said that the policy of taking part in the general elections under Jamaat-e-Islami symbol of elections has been appreciated by Jamaat-e-Islami workers as well as external circles. He said now Jamaat-e-Islami’s clear activity should be seen everywhere and added the office-bearers and party workers should support candidates of their respective constituencies. He further said that parliamentary board and central forums have been empowered regarding implementing practically political policy and strategy.

On this occasion, provincial secretary general Iqbal Khan, president political committee Dr. Mubashar Ahmed Siddiqui, naib emir province Hafiz Tanvir Ahmed, Qazi Muhammad Jameel, president electoral committee Rassal Khan Babar, secretary political committee Awais Aslam Mirza, secretary electoral committee Dr. Imran Faraz and naib emirs and presidents of electoral committee from across the province participated.

On the occasion, Liaqat Baloch said that Jamaat-e-Islami is a public and democratic movement and it also remains in contact with other political and religious of the country. He said they wanted to transform Pakistan into an Islamic welfare state.

He further said that their utmost priority is to give relief to people by sorting out their issues. During the event economic solution of all the circles of life was also presented.

On the occasion Dr. Tariq Saleem said that nomination process of candidates in Islamabad and other 13 districts of Punjab have been completed while they have also fixed dateline for other some constituencies. He said till November 22, they would finalize candidates hundred percent and take approval from central parliamentary board.
