People who were involved in May 9 incidents could not be allowed to contest elections: Rana Sanaullah
ISLAMABAD, Nov 8 (SABAH): Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Punjab President and former interior minister Rana Sanaullah Khan has said that no one could stop Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) from contesting elections but those people who were involved in May 9 incidents could not be allowed to contest elections.
During an interview with a private TV channel, former interior minister Rana Sanaullah said that the opponent vote bank of PML-N present in Punjab first it was supporting Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) but now that vote bank and support has transferred to towards Pakistan Tehreek-Insaf (PTI).
The PML-N leader said that Chairman PTI Imran Khan should have appointed Shah Mehmood Qureshi or someone else PTI chief but it is habit of the PTI chief that he does not trust anyone and added that past the also followed the same lines.
The people who were involved in May 9 incidents those could not be allowed to contest elections, he said and added first of all they would have to face the music for what they did. He said after facing their punishments they could go for contesting elections.
To a question, Rana Sanaullah said if difficult situation had to face PTI, the party leaders should have prepared themselves to face these circumstances and make their strategies but they did nothing, he suggested. He said that chairman PTI should trust the people present in his party.
