Backdoor contacts between PDM & PPP expedited for brining an in-house change

ISLAMABAD, Jan 24 (SABAH): Backdoor contacts between Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) and Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) have been expedited for brining an in-house change putting the anti-government no-confidence movement into a logical turn.

According to a media report, important contacts have been made between the PDM and PPP.  Politicking was underway for settling matters after successful in-house change.

The center of discussion is that who will be the prime minister? and  how long would it take to conduct elections after dissolution of assemblies. Apparently, PPP and PDM seemed to have divergent views about duration of elections where PML-N demanded three months guarantee for holding the fresh elections; however PPP is agreed to hold the next elections in six months time.

According to sources, PPP was of the opinion that there wasn’t any benefit of holding general elections prior to electoral reforms and this process will take time. PPP and PDM have presented their formulas and further discussion is underway regarding the date of elections.
