Sirajul Haq calls upon the rulers of the Muslim world to assume a decisive role in resolving the Palestine issue

KARACHI, Oct 09 (SABAH): Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Emir Sirajul Haq has called upon the rulers of the Muslim world to assume a decisive role in resolving the Palestine issue, rather than remaining passive observers or adopting a neutral stance.

Sirajul Haq made this appeal during a meeting with religious scholars on Monday, emphasizing the urgency of securing the freedom of the holy land and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state.

Sirajul Haq paid homage to the sacrifices made by the Palestinian people in their struggle for independence and expressed unwavering solidarity with their cause. He underscored that the Pakistani nation stands resolutely in support of the Palestinian liberation movement. He decried the egregious human rights violations perpetrated by Israel and the prolonged siege endured by the people of Gaza. He stressed the importance of Islamabad taking a leading role in the Palestinian cause, in accordance with the vision of Quaid-i-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the father of the nation. He asserted that the Palestinians are justified in their fight for independence.

Sirajul Haq announced the establishment of the Palestine Fund to aid the Palestinian people and declared nationwide rallies to demonstrate solidarity with the freedom movement. On October 15, a million-man march in Karachi will be organized on his appeal.

The JI chief unveiled a plan to hold meetings with religious scholars and leaders of seminaries to remind them of their role in raising awareness about the Palestine issue among the nation. He cautioned that recognizing Israel, as proposed by various Muslim countries or showing sympathy towards Israel, would not lead to a resolution of the Palestine issue. He urged Muslim rulers to take action to compel the world to implement the plan for an independent Palestinian state.

Meanwhile, during discussions with local government representatives of JI Karachi, he criticized the previous PPP government’s failure to address the fundamental issues facing the millions of people in the port city during its 15-year rule in Sindh. He highlighted JI’s history of serving the people of Karachi and expressed confidence that the party would ultimately restore peace and prosperity to the provincial metropolis.
