Interior Ministry issues directions for adopting extra security measures in view of Anarkali Bazar, Lahore terrorist attack
ISLAMABAD, Jan 22 (SABAH): Interior Ministry has issued directions to all the provinces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan for adopting extra security measures in view of the recent Anarkali Bazar, Lahore terrorist attack.
The instructions have been issued with the approval of Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid Ahmed.
It is written in the letter that in view of recent terrorist attack in Anarkali Bazar, Lahore and threat posed by activities of anti state elements, all Provincial and special area Governments/Law Enforcement Agencies(LEAs) are requested to exercise extreme vigilance and be on alert to deal with any untoward situation.
The copy of the letter has been sent to chief secretaries of Punjab, Sindh, KPK, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan, Chief Commissioner, ICT, Islamabad, DG Rangers’ of Sindh and Punjab, Commandant Frontier Constabulary (KPK), Peshawar, Inspector General, Frontier Corps (North), KPK, Peshawar, Inspector General, Frontier Corps, (South) KPK, Dera Ismail Khan, Inspector General Frontier Corps (North) Quetta, Balochistan, Inspector General, Frontier Corps (Turbat), Balochistan, Inspector General of Police, ICT, Islamabad, Inspector Generals of Police Punjab KPK, Sindh, Balochistan, Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit Baltistan.
The copy of the letter has also been sent to the Prime Minister, Prime Minister’s Office, Islamabad, Director to the Minister for Interior and PSO to Secretary Interior. The letter has been issued with the approval of Imran Hussain, Section Officer (Security-1).
