Teachers are nation builders as they inculcate knowledge & values in future generation: Raja Pervez Ashraf
ISLAMABAD, Oct 04 (SABAH): Speaker National Assembly and former prime minister of Pakistan Raja Pervez Ashraf has said that teachers are nation builders as they inculcate knowledge and values in future generation .He also said that Islam grants high status to teachers. While paying rich tribute to Shaheed Mohtrama Benazir Bhutto, he said “I am truly grateful to my teachers and mentors especially Shaheed Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto for where I stand today.”
Raja Pervez Ashraf expressed these views in his message in connection with World Teachers Day which is being commemorated around the world to acknowledge and appreciate the role of teachers in nation building today (Thursday).
Raja Pervez Ashraf said that every nation is indebted to its educationists, mentors and especially its teachers for development and progress which they achieve, as teachers are nation builders. He also said that teachers in Islam have respectable status and as nation we as nation respect our teachers wholeheartedly. He also said that taking all initiatives for teachers welfare has been priority of Parliament of Pakistan.
While commenting on this year’s theme, Speaker National Assembly reiterated on the importance of formulating and setting appropriate benchmarks to ensure on-job safety, job-security, proper remuneration, status and a mechanism for an adequate provision of rights for teachers around the globe. “Our future is secure only if our teachers remain motivated and secure”, said the Speaker NA Raja Pervez Ashraf
