Pakistan reports 23 deaths from coronavirus during last 24 hours


ISLAMABAD, Jan 21 (SABAH): Pakistan has reported 23 deaths in the last 24 hours by novel coronavirus as the number of positive cases has surged to 1,353,479. The nationwide tally of fatalities has jumped to 29,065 on Friday. So far 1,266,479 patients have recovered in the country. So far 102,975,552 people have been partially vaccinated for coronavirus in country; meanwhile during the last 24 hours 286,593 people were vaccinated for coronavirus. So far 78,860,543 people have been fully vaccinated for coronavirus and 470,601 were vaccinated during the last 24 hours. So far 170,711,868 dozes of vaccine have been administered in whole country; meanwhile 786,025 dozes of vaccine were administered in the country during the last 24 hours. The positivity rate of coronavirus reported cases has reached 12.93 percent on Friday.

According to the latest figures by the National Command and Operation Center (NCOC) 7,678 persons tested positive for COVID-19 in the past 24 hours.

The death rate from the coronavirus pandemic in Pakistan is 2.1 percent; meanwhile the number of recovered patients of coronavirus has reached 93.6 percent. During the last 24 hours 814 coronavirus patients were recovered in the country. There are 961 critical coronavirus patients present in the country. There are 57,935 active coronavirus cases presenting the country.

According to NCOC, Punjab province has become at first position in number of deaths from coronavirus pandemic; meanwhile Sindh province is on the second position. Meanwhile Sindh province has come on first position in terms of total reported cases of coronavirus, recovered coronavirus patients and active coronavirus cases in the country; meanwhile Punjab province at second position. On the other hand federal capital Islamabad has come on third position in terms of active coroanvirus cases. There are 5,704 active coronavirus patients present in Islamabad. There are 35,807 active coronavirus patients present in Sindh, 14,114 in Punjab, 1,833 active cases present in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 158 in Balochistan, 282 in Azad Jammu and Jammu and Kashmir and 8 in Gilgit-Baltistan.

The percentage of deaths from coronavirus patients in Azad Jammu and Kashmir is 3 percent, in Islamabad 1 percent, Gilgit-Baltistan 2 percent, Balochistan 1 percent, in Punjab 3 percent, in Sindh 2 percent and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa 3 percent.

Till now 13,096 individuals have lost their lives to the epidemic in Punjab 7,727 in Sindh, 5,968 in KP, 971 in Islamabad, 749 in Azad Kashmir, 367 in Balochistan, and 187 in GB.

Furthermore 516,874 coronavirus cases have been confirmed in Sindh, 458,879 in Punjab, 183,403 in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, 115,047 in Islamabad, 33,812 in Balochistan, 34,997 in Azad Kashmir and 10,467 in Gilgit-Baltistan. Pakistan has so far conducted 24,415,716 coronavirus tests and 59,343 in the last 24 hours.

So far 473,340 coronavirus patients have recovered in Sindh, 431,669 coronavirus patients have recovered in Punjab, 175,605 coronavirus patients have recovered in Khyber Pakhtunkhawa, 108,372 coronaviurs patients have been recovered in Islamabad, 33,287 coronavirus patients have been recovered in Balochistan, 33,966 coronavirus patients have been recovered in Azad Jammu and Kashmir and 10,243 coronavirus patients have been recovered in Gilgit-Baltistan.
