Caretaker PM Anwaarul Haq Kakar’s address to the UNGA was based on irrefutable facts: Ghulam Muhammad Safi
ISLAMABAD, Sep 23 (SABAH): Tehreek-e-Hurriyet Jammu Kashmir Convener in Pakistan Ghulam Muhammad Safi has lauded Pakistan’s Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaarul Haq Kakar for highlighting the issue of Jammu and Kashmir in its real perspective.
PM’s assertion that Jammu Kashmir is one of the oldest issues on the agenda of the United Nations Security Council is indisputable, and also that India has evaded implementation of the UNSC Resolutions which call for the final disposition of Jammu and Kashmir to be decided by its people through United Nations supervised plebiscite, remains unquestionable, Ghulam Muhammad Safi said in a statement issued on Saturday.
He said that the deployment of more than 900 thousand occupation troops equipped with lethal weapons and license to kill makes the situation in the illegally occupied territory more gruesome. It is in this backdrop that access to IIOJK was demanded by the U.N High Commissioner for Human Rights and over a dozen special Rapporteurs, which New Delhi has denied, he said.
This denial by India, Ghulam Muhammad Safi maintained, is ample proof that India has something to hide from the international community.
Convener Tehreek-e-Hurriyet predicted that while exercising its right to reply, India will come up with a big lie that “Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India”. This Indian narrative carries no weight because Jammu Kashmir is a United Nations recognised disputed territory and also that India has agreed to a United Nations supervised plebiscite in Jammu and Kashmir.
Tehreek-e-Hurriyet has welcomed the address of Caretaker Prime Minister and hopes that UNSC will take steps to reinforce UNMOGIP and ensure implementation of its Resolutions regarding plebiscite.
Tehreek-e-Hurriyet has urged all the political parties of Pakistan to forge unity and to show solidarity with “Kashmir” during and after the upcoming elections.
