Protection of all citizens of Pakistan is responsibility of the State: Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar
GILGIT, Sep 12 (SABAH): Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar is in Gilgit to review progress on developmental projects as well as law and order situation in the region.
On his arrival, the Prime Minister laid a floral wreath at the monument of martyrs. A contingent of Gilgit Baltistan Scouts presented guard of honour to the prime minister.
Later, the Prime Minister visited an exhibition of science models by students of local schools and evinced a keen interest in the innovative models made by the students.
The students presented various models depicting power generation from hydel and solar sources to mitigate impact of the climate change.
The Prime Minister lauded the abilities of the children and said Pakistan has a bright future ahead due to its talented youth.
He also appreciated the knowledge of young girls and boys on environmental issues.
Chief Secretary Gilgit-Baltistan Mohi-yud-deen Wani briefed the Prime Minister regarding reforms in education sector of Gilgit Baltistan.
Presiding over a briefing on development projects and law and order situation in Gilgit, Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar instructed the Gilgit-Baltistan administration and leadership to review the progress of all ongoing development projects and pay special attention to the significant schemes. He said protection of all citizens of Pakistan is responsibility of the State.
Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar directed the authorities concerned to timely identify all the elements involved in fanning anarchy in the name of religion and take strict measures against them.
Meanwhile Governor Gilgit Baltistan Syed Mehdi Shah called on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in Gilgit.
During the meeting the Governor thanked the Prime Minister for taking special interest in the development of GB and visiting the area.
Syed Mehdi Shah briefed the Prime Minister about the administrative affairs and law and order situation of Gilgit Baltistan.
Meanwhile, Gilgit Baltistan Chief Minister Gulbar Khan also called on Caretaker Prime Minister Anwaar-ul-Haq Kakar in Gilgit.
During the meeting, the Chief Minister informed the Prime Minister about the progress of the ongoing development projects in Gilgit.
The Chief Minister also briefed on the government’s initiatives for the development of public welfare projects in Gilgit-Baltistan, especially the health and education sectors.
He also apprised the Prime Minister about government’s initiatives for the promotion of tourism in Gilgit Baltistan.
The Chief Minister presented the Prime Minister a traditional attire of Gilgit Baltistan.
