Senate Secretariat terms some of the signatures on requisition submitted by PPP for calling meeting of the Upper House as ambiguous

ISLAMABAD, Sep 7 (SABAH): Senate Secretariat has termed some of the signatures on requisition submitted by the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) for calling the meeting of the Upper House of the Parliament as ambiguous.

According to a private TV channel, Senate Secretariat in a letter written to the Senator Malik Shahadat Awan has stated that requisition has been submitted with the signatures of 27 members.

In the letter, Senator Danesh Kumar, Maulana Ataur Rehman and Shafiq Tareen asked to not include their signatures whereas signatures of senators including Mian Raza Rabbani, Palwasha Khan, Robina Khalid, Shamim Afridi and Muhammad Akram didn’t match. In the letter of the Senate Secretariat it has been stated that the requisition submitted for convening the meeting does not fulfill the rules and regulations. 

It is worth mentioning here that PPP had submitted a requisition for holding a debate in the Senate on Jaranwala’s incident a few days ago.
