Charity has been given paramount significance in religion of Islam: Dr Hafeezur Rehman
RAWALPINDI, Sep 4 (SABAH): President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Dr Hafeezur Rehman in a message on “International Day of Charity” stated that charity has been given paramount significance in religion of Islam urging Muslims to pay zakat, alms, and donations so that miserable people of society facing economic issues, homeless and helpless individuals could be provided financial support.
Dr Hafeezur Rehman on the occasion of World Charity Day noted that motif behind celebrating this day is to inculcate awareness among the masses about activities related to charity, acknowledgment of charity organisations, sensitizing and encouraging masses through their humanitarian activities.
President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan further said that charity could lessen the worst effects of human crisis and added it could also complete human services in disasters, health care, education, shelter and safeguard of children especially orphans.
He noted that donors and volunteers are asset of Alkhidmat Foundation as due to their timely sacrifice, projects of human service succeed and relief to calamites-stricken people is provided. He said those who undertake charity related activities feel peace of heart and pleasure. “Besides this, holding meetings with the poor and listening to the grievances of underprivileged people create sense of thankfulness for the blessings which the donors are already enjoying,” he added.
President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan noted that real motif of life is to serve the others as indeed it is humanity and a kind of worship. He stressed upon youth to actively participate in welfare and social activities and continued “we should consume some portion of our income on patients, helpless, orphans, underprivileged, needy and homeless individuals as an act of charity.”
Dr Hafeezur Rehman further advised not only we should cooperation with such individuals of the society but also persuade others to help them out so that they could play their role in the development of nation and country while proving them useful citizens.
