Helping Election Commission for the conduct of free, fair & transparent elections is our prime responsibility: Murtaza Solangi

ISLAMABAD, August 25 (SABAH): Caretaker Minister for Information and Broadcasting Murtaza Solangi says we are committed to assist Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) in conducting elections on scheduled date.

Talking to a private TV channel, Murtaza Solangi said helping Election Commission for the conduct of free, fair and transparent elections is our prime responsibility.

Regarding inflation, the Minister said we are aware of the increase in prices of electricity, gas and essential commodities and for this purpose we will give an economic recovery plan next week.

He said oil prices have increased in the global market along with depreciation of rupee which created economic problems.

Murtaza Solangi said all cabinet members of the caretaker setup are experts in their respective fields and it will be our utmost effort to give the country in a better condition than in which we got it.

The Minister also stressed for adopting austerity measures to improve economic conditions of the country.

Condemning the incident of 9th May, he said we should support and respect rule of law in the country.
