Fawad says govt committed to providing health cards to journalists on priority basis


ISLAMABAD, Jan 14 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Chaudhry Fawad Husain says the government is committed to providing health cards to journalists on priority basis. 

He was talking to a delegation of Press Association of Supreme Court in Islamabad on Friday. The Minister congratulated the newly elected office bearers of the association.

The Information Minister said fair and accurate court reporting is imperative for ensuring prestige of judiciary and basic rights of people. He said the journalists doing court reporting should play their due role in promotion of responsible journalism.

Underlining the need for training of court reporters, the minister said that the government will prepare a strategy in this regard in collaboration with the representative journalist bodies.

Meanwhile Chaudhary Fawad Hussain says opposition leaders will not be in the Parliament after the next general elections.

In a tweet on Friday, he said the next election will be the last polls of the PPP and PML-N. Chaudhary Fawad Hussain said opposition faced another defeat when the government succeeded in getting bills of important nature passed from the National Assembly.

 Meanwhile Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that government has decided to allow permanent residency scheme for foreign nationals.

In a tweet on Friday, he said the step is in line with the new National Security Policy through which Pakistan has declared Geo-economics as core of its National security doctrine. The Minister said the new policy will allow foreigners to get permanent resident status in lieu of investment.

Meanwhile, the Information Minister also visited the residence of Senate Chairman Mir Muhammad Sadiq Sanjrani in Islamabad on Friday and expressed condolence over death of his brother Salar Sanjrani.

The Minister prayed for eternal peace for the departed soul and patience for the bereaved family.
