Former ruling party of Sindh converted province into a jungle with the support of cruel landlords & waderas: Sirajul Haq

KHAIRPUR, Aug 22 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has stated that former ruling party of Sindh converted the province into a jungle with the support of cruel landlords and waderas that even the girls were not safe there. He stated dacoits have been ruling the roost over here for 40 years.

Sirajul Haq expressed these views while addressing a protest demonstration taken out in connection with seeking justice for the family of a girl victimized by a local landlord in Ranipur Town of Khairpur.

Sirajul Haq demanded that killers of the innocent girl Fatima Pharero must be meted out exemplary punishment and added the protest would be continued till the family is given justice.

Accompanied by Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh Asadullah Bhutto Advocate, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sindh Muhammad Hussain Mehanti and Central Secretary Information JI Qaisar Sharif, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq held meeting with father and brothers of Fatima and prayed for the departed soul.

Kashif Saeed Sheikh, Mumtaz Hussain, Hizbullah, Abdul Hafeez Bajarani, Shabir Khanzada and other provincial and local office-bearers were also present on the occasion. After holding meetings with Christian families in Jaranwala, Sirajul Haq departed for Sindh on Tuesday morning.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami further stated that the masses were kept away from peace, justice and development and continued the entire country was burning as impatience and moral degradation were on the rise. He added the country was being mocked.

Sirajul Haq further stated that the ruling junta imposed on the country since last 75 years was directly responsible for the mess over here. He stressed upon the need of getting rid of ruling class for sorting out issues being faced by the country. He noted only Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan could tackle with the rule of dacoits and monsters that is why the nation should stand by it.

Earlier, he also participated in stage-in of family members and local journalists held in connection with a murder of a journalist Jan Muhammad Mehr in Sukkur.

Addressing the participants, Sirajul Haq stated no-one including the journalists was safe in the country and remarked that Pakistan stood at 197 number with regards to press freedom in the world. He deplored that 140 journalists were targeted during the previous two years and added by and large the past five years period was the worst for the media.

Sirajul Haq that abduction of journalists, killing and harassment incidents were rampant in this land of ours and added that Jamaat-e-Islami stands by the journalist community for their protection. He stated they have always taken up voice for the rights of journalists as “We wish to see independent media as well as institutions in Pakistan.”
