PTI Chairman’s arrest on court order is justified: Pervez Khattak

ISLAMABAD, Aug 06 (SABAH): Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarian Chief and former defense minister Pervez Khan Khattak has termed Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest on court’s order as justified, saying country’s courts are independent.

Pervez Khattak expressed these views during an interview with a private channel. He questioned who came out of their homes in the support of PTI chairman and continued mere talks would be of no worth.

Former Khyber Pakhtunkhwa chief minister noted that the country could not make progress only by befooling masses. “I want to tell nation that PTI chairman is not making a new Pakistan at all. He wants to become a dictator and inclined to bring about a revolution against the Army while creating anarchy in the country,” he remarked.

He made it clear, “I have no objection on the suspension of elections but I would be happy. What I am seeing and listening to people, polls would be held during the last days of February next year.”

He maintained selling off gifts is totally a shameful act, saying this act of the former prime minister was totally unjustified. He said that PTI chairman hid a number of things but he did not tell the people about those things as well as their prices, terming it a shameful act for the countrymen.

He considered PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s arrest on court’s order as justified, saying our courts are independent in making their verdicts and added a number more things are going to appear in the days to come so a few cases will be very strong against him.

He maintained punishment of PTI chairman is not going to reverse at all as it is an open and shut case and thus cannot be reversed. He also shed light on 190 million pounds case wherein he himself appeared before the court, saying in this case, Imran Khan could not be spared. He also mentioned May 9 case and a number of others.

Pervez Khattak maintained they were given a chance of elections but PTI chairman was not in favour of holding elections as he was prepared to bring about a revolution in the country, and added by being a dictator, he wanted to occupy the country.

He remarked, “Assets are supposed to be shown before the Election Commission as well as in the assets’ details. When you did not show and hid some information in this regard then punishment was given to you which is not an unjustified act at all. If I commit this, same would take place with me.”

He said that PTI chairman throughout the life befooled the masses through telling lies and added they ruled the country for three-and-half years but they have nothing to tell the nation with regards to their performance.

Pervez Khattak said, “When people will understand the realities, they would come to know that he wanted to draw the country in which direction. PTI chairman has nothing to say in his defense. If he would have been true, he would show details of his assets to the Election Commission as well as present them in tax returns. He used to run all the affairs on his own while keeping the entire country in dark.”
