People of Kashmir will never give up their right to self determination: Ali Raza Syed
BRUSSELS, August 05 (SABAH): A Kashmir’s protest camp was held at Place de l’Albertine near Central Train Station in Brussels, the capital of Belgium on Saturday, 5th August 2023.
The event was organized by Kashmir Council Europe (KC-EU) in connection with day of 5th August 2019, when by removing the articles 370 and 35A of its constitution, the Indian government annulled special status of Jammu and Kashmir. Since then, a number of Kashmiri leaders, political workers, human rights activists and journalist became in Indian imprisonment and atrocities against the people of Kashmir rapidly increased.
Participants of the Saturday’s protest camp in Brussels were holding placards and banners having slogans in support of the oppressed people of Jammu and Kashmir. They also condemned the Indian atrocities against the Kashmiris struggling for their right to self determination for 75 years. In spite of rain, the protest drew attention of a number of the people towards current situation in the occupied Kashmir specially human rights violations committed by the Indian forces in the territory.
On the occasion of the Brussels’ protest camp, Chairman Kashmir Council EU Ali Raza Syed said, by removing the special status of Jammu and Kashmir, India can not hide the Kashmir dispute which is related to the right to self determination of people of Kashmir. People of Kashmir will never give up their right to self determination.
Ali Raza Syed said the purpose of the protest camp is to highlight the brutalities against the people of Kashmir and other illegal acts committed by the Indian authorities in the occupied Kashmir. He called for end of atrocities in the illegally occupied Kashmir especially violence against the Kashmiri women and children.
Chair of KC-EU asked the international community including UN and EU to play their role for ending atrocities in occupied Jammu and Kashmir and implementation of the United Nations Security Council resolutions giving the right to self-determination to the Kashmiri people. He also called for withdrawal of Indian occupation forces, an end to Indian state terrorism, end of genocidal repression, rape, gang-rape, torture, and degrading treatment of Kashmiri men, women, and children.
Ali Raza Syed also called for unconditionally release of all detained Kashmiri political figures and human rights activities including Muhammad Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmad Shah and Khurram Pervaiz.
Chair of KC-EU asked the international community to play its role for a peaceful resolution of Kashmir and said, participation of the Kashmiri leadership in all round of the peace process on Kashmir should be ensured.
