Impeccable census is a constitutional need, vital for national unity: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, Aug 03 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Liaqat Baloch has stated that impeccable census is a must for the sake of forging national unity as well as it is constitutional requirement.
While addressing a central consultative meeting held in connection with general elections in the country at Mansoorah here on Thursday, Liaqat Baloch stated that political democratic leadership and interim governments were under their own interests and wishes, adding so much so they converted Constitution and laws into a sport of children.
He further stated that incompetence and failures of former government of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) led by Imran and the current coalition government of Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) had further strengthened the establishment. He noted there is a need of holding dialogue on national preferences as well as compensation of mistakes committed by national, political and democratic leadership to extricate the country out of political, economic and electoral crisis.
Liaqat Baloch stated that a faultless census is a must for the sake of forging national unity as well as it is constitutional need and added; however, census must not be made a tool to suspend the general elections as deviation from the Constitution.
Liaqat Baloch further stressed upon the need of holding general elections while remaining within the constitutional tenure. He suggested the Election Commission of Pakistan to setup impartial governments in the Centre and provinces while diverting its full attention towards holding of free, fair and transparent elections in the country.
Liaqat Baloch maintained that for wiping out the menace of terrorism, the government, politics and State should once again come together for the approval of National Action Plan (NAP) as it lies in the first and foremost responsibility of the State to safeguard lives, properties and honor of every Pakistani.
