We have taken difficult decisions to put economy of country on the right direction: Marriyum Aurangzeb

ISLAMABAD, August 01 (SABAH): Minister for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb inaugurated Foreign Media Digital Monitoring Wall at Directorate of Electronic Media and Publications in Islamabad on Monday.

Addressing the inauguration ceremony, Marriyum Ayrangzeb said through this digital system, information will be disseminated among 52 countries through Radio Pakistan.

She said 90 local and 35 international media channels and social media tools including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube will be monitored through this monitoring system installed first time in the country at Ministry of Information and Broadcasting.

The Minister said with the help of this unprecedented Foreign Media Digital Monitoring System, Pakistan’s issues will be highlighted at international level.

She said this is central monitoring digital system based on machine learning, real time information, artificial intelligence, video recognition and editing and data research. It will also monitor and assist all departments of the government.

Regarding price hike of petroleum products, Marriyum Aurangzeb said the prices have been increased in the national interest. She said that the increase in the prices of the petroleum products has been made due to increase at international market. She said that politicking is being done on the petroleum prices. She said that we have taken difficult decisions to put the economy of the country on the right direction. She said that the coalition government has not taken decisions to secure cheap popularity. Marriyum Aurangzeb said that we will put the country on the journey of progress.

She said that prime minister has announced to quit government prior to the completion of the tenure. She said that the steps taken by current government could be seen in every field of the country. She said that we have worked day in and day out for the economic revival during the last 15 months, adding that we will restart this journey with the confidence of the masses vote. She said that responsible people are sitting in the coalition government. She said that Chairman PTI spoiled the relations with the friendly countries.  

She said the coalition government left no stone unturned to save the country from default and did best for improvement of the institutions. She said all efforts were made for rehabilitation and reconstruction of flood-hit people in the country.

Meanwhile in a statement issued on twitter on Tuesday Marriyum Aurangzeb said that she was delighted to launch Radio Pakistan’s 1,000 KW DRM Digital Medium Wave Transmitter project in Rawat on Sunday. This project is a major milestone in our mission to revolutionize Radio Pakistan, upgrade its capabilities to international standards, and improve the quality and reach of Radio Pakistan.

She said that once installed and commissioned, this Transmitter will increase the range of Radio Pakistan’s broadcasts to several other countries. DRM technology will enable transmission of up to 4 different signals, increasing energy efficiency and reducing electricity consumption by 33% resulting in cost-efficiencies for Radio Pakistan.

“I am also happy to announce that Ministry of Information and Broadcasting has begun the work to also establish Pakistan’s first media city in Rawat. Onwards and upwards” Marriyum Aurangzeb said.
