Federal Govt committed to mitigate the hardships of people of GB: Azam Nazir Tarar

ISLAMABAD, July 25 (SABAH): A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Federal Minister for Law and Justice Senator Chaudhry Azam Nazir Tarar Advocate to finalize Power Generation Policy for Gilgit-Balitistan. All the relevant stakeholders were present in the meeting.

Participants of the meeting included Advisor to Prime Minister on Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Balitaistan Qamar Zaman Qaira, Secretary Water And Power Gilgit-Baltistan, Secretary Kahmir Affairs, representatives from power division, and Secretary Law And Justice Division. Participants in the discussion shared their insightful ideas for bridging the demand and supply gap that the Gilgit Baltistan region is currently experiencing.

Azam Nazir Tarar reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to mitigate the hardships of the people of GB and is commitment to extend every possible cooperation. Moreover, Federal Government would help the GB Government to overcome the power crisis. It was discussed in the meeting that to attract investment in Energy sector and in order to materailize the full potential of GB resources for the people of GB, the PPIB Act and the Power policy of 2015 would be extended to GB. The Gilgit-Baltistan Government would move a summary in this regard to its line Ministry.
