Everyone has seen consequences of expressing resentment in politics: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, July 19 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami and former parliamentary leader in the National Assembly, Liaqat Baloch has stated that each and everyone has seen consequences of expressing resentment in the politics.

Liaqat Baloch expressed these views during political electoral consultative meeting in Lahore, Islamabad and Rawalpindi as well as while his meeting with Emir South Punjab Rao Muhammad Zafar on Wednesday.

He further said that patience, strategy and democratic norms could guarantee peace and stability in the society and added that holding free, fair and transparent elections within the constitutional term were vital for political stability in the country.  

Liaqat Baloch said that each and everyone has seen consequences of expressing resentment in politics. He warned if the elections were suspended after dissolution of national as well as other assemblies it may result in emergence of severe political crisis that might trigger struggle for saving democracy.

Liaqat Baloch further said that national unity and internal stability is the treatment of economic crisis and seriousness of the current situation as all have observed the outcome of showing anger in the political affairs and continued that patience, strategy and democratic norms could guarantee peace and stability in the society.

He said that Jamaat-e-Islami’s 2023 elections conventions in South, North and Central Punjab as well as in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and added that national and provincial assembly candidates have plunged into the field of elections. “On July 22, peace jirga would be held in Quetta while on July 23, Balochistan elections 2023 convention would be held. During the month of July, electoral conventions of Sindh Upper and Karachi would be organized,” he mentioned.

He remarked that only Jamaat-e-Islami could pull the country out of crisis and added it could create an environment of confidence in civil-military relations as it (Jamaat-e-Islami) itself obeys democratic norms which would prove fruitful for running the state affairs.

Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami stressed upon all the stakeholders of the country to obey constitutional limits while agreeing on the least agenda of national preferences for the restoration of national honor and sovereignty and security. He added Chia, Saudi Arabia, UAE and Turkey have assisted in the economic crisis which must not be broken, saying self-sufficiency is a respectable way instead of begging for the money.

While talking to journalists, Liaqat Baloch stressed upon the need of cementing ties between Pakistan and Iran as well as with Afghanistan and added that exchange of harsh statements further create resentment between Pakistan and Afghanistan. “Stability in Afghanistan would be a failure of Pakistan’s enemies,” he added.
