PM Shehbaz directs making preparations for expected rainfalls in the days to come
LAHORE, June 27 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif has ordered to make complete preparations for the possible flood situation arising from the expected rains in the coming days.
Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif was chairing a review meeting on the preparations regarding the expected pre-monsoon rains in northern Punjab.
He said in case of possible rains during the days of Eid, an emergency plan should be prepared using all available resources.
The Prime Minister ordered to strictly monitor the collection of hides of sacrificial animals during Eid so that no banned organization can collect them.
He said in the context of Eid and Monsoon, a special complaint center and control room should operate 24 hours for public convenience.
Meanwhile, Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif ordered an inquiry against the relevant officials for not ensuring proper sewerage system as well as directed to dismiss them.
Punjab chief secretary, officers of the LWMC, WASA and Lahore Commissioner also attended the meeting at Model Town. The babus briefed the prime minister on waterlogging and urban flooding in Lahore due to heavy rain. The prime minister sought a detailed report on this issue.
