With the blessings of Almighty Allah, coastal area of Pak remained safe from Cyclonic Storm ‘BIPARJOY’: Prof. Dr. Hafeezur Rehman


LAHORE, June 16 (SABAH): In view of the threat of Severe Cyclonic Storm “BIPARJOY”, the meeting of the Alkhidmat Disaster Management Program was held to review the ongoing relief activities of the Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan. The meeting was attended by President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman, Vice President Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Ijazullah Khan, National Director Fazal Mahmood, Program Manager Asif Jamal and other regional office bearers.

Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman while addressing the meeting said that with the blessings of Almighty Allah, the coastal area of Pakistan remained safe from the Cyclonic Storm “BIPARJOY”. Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman paid rich tribute to the volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation who rendered services while adopting best strategy in Pakistan’s coastal areas including Karachi, Badin and Thatta.

On the occasion Ijazullah Khan informed that during the current emergency situation like always Alkhimdat Foundation remained at the forefront in the field and Alkhidmat Foundation started the operation to save lives of the people of these areas. He said that command and control center was established in Karachi in view of the Cyclonic Storm “BIPARJOY”. He said that over 500 trained volunteers of the Alkhidmat Foundation remained present in Karachi, Badin, Sujawal and Thatta districts along with life jackets. He said that to deal with any emergency situation in high alert areas of Karachi including Defense, Kimari, Ibrahim Haideri and Mari Pur, the local volunteer teams were constituted. He said that three medical units and 10 ambulances remained present for provision of the medical facilities to the affectees in make shift camps in Badin, Thatta, Mirpur Khas and Bela. Likewise three kitchens were established in these areas and cooked food was provided to the people present in makeshift camps.
