Under Alkhidmat Foundation Tameer E Watan Program, 816 projects of clean drinking water completed in flood affected areas of country: Dr. Hafeezur Rehman

LAHORE, June 8 (SABAH): A one more water filtration plant under Alkhidmat Foundation Tameer E Watan Program has been inaugurated in flood hit Rajanpur. This plant has been installed in the police lines of Rajanpur.

Ahead of this, Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan has installed eight water filtration plants with which thousands of people were benefiting. Along with installation, office-bearers were also being trained as to how to use them.

On this occasion, President Alkhidmat Foundation Professor Dr. Hafeezur Rehman while sharing details of clean drinking water, said that at present, through Alkhidmat’s 246 water filtration plants, 2,483 wells, 12,074 hand pumps, 1850 submersible pumps, 320 solar submersible pumps and with 148 gravity flow water scheme, over 5 million individuals were being provided with clean drinking water on daily basis.

He further said that Alkhidmat Foundation with the projects of clean drinking water wanted to establish a healthful society. In the flood affected areas, 26 mobile water filtration plants, 56000 jerricans and 100 water tanks benefited the flood victims. Furthermore, water tanks were established in 205 homes and 4,300,000 litre of water was distributed.

Dr. Hafeezur Rehman said that under Alkhidmat Foundation Tameer E Watan Program, 816 projects of clean drinking water have been completed in flood affected areas of the country due to which millions of people were benefiting whereas more than 300 projects were in final stages of completion.

He further said that Rs 1.5 million were consumed to establish a water filtration plant and added that this filtration plant has capacity of purifying over 500 litre of water.
