Sirajul Haq thanks Almighty Allah as SC orders release of Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch on bail

ISLAMABAD, May 18 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has thanked Almighty Allah as Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) ordered release of chief of Gwadar Ko Haq Do Tehreek Maulana Hidayatur Rehman on bail. He said that Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch received justice after remaining 125 days in jail.

Sirajul Haq expressed these views in a statement issued on Thursday on Twitter. He further remarked, “I congratulate people of Gwadar, Haq Do Tehreek and office-bearers of Jamaat-e-Islami on release of Maulana Hidayatur Rehman. Pakistan is biggest province of Pakistan and Gwadar is its most important city where there is no water, no education as well as no facilities of health. Poor fishermen have been rendered jobless. We will continue our struggle for the rights of the masses.”

Meanwhile after hearing of bail case, while talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court’s premises, Sirajul Haq who was accompanied by Jamaat-e-Islami leaders Liaqat Baloch, Mian Muhammad Aslam, MNA Maulana Abdul Akbar Chitrali and Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Islamabad Engineer Nasrullah Randhawa, said that Pakistan has trapped in constitutional, economic and political crisis whereas supremacy of constitution and law is vital for the progress and development of the country.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan said, “Balochistan is a biggest province in terms of areas and enriched with minerals. Gwadar is an important city in the light of futuristic view of the country. Now this city has its own importance at international level but this city is deprived of all the facilities which are needs of human beings. We want to see development of Pakistan. Establishment of law and justice was a must for the sake of progress and development.”

Sirajul Haq further said that a citizen only can knock the doors of courts and added in Panama Leaks case, their application was against 436 people but not against any single individual. He added our effort in this regard was against those who stashed money abroad as their names were taken up by the national and international media.

Sirajul Haq said that the prevailing situation where the country is stuck in the plethora of crises is the direct result of the self-serving policies and politics of the ruling alliance (the PDM and the PPP) and the PTI.

“They have turned the country into a laughing stock worldwide. Pakistan is being declared as an insecure destination,” he added.

Sirajul Haq welcomed the top court order to grant bail to Gwadar Rights Movement head Maulana Hidayatur Rahman, congratulating the people the Balochistan. He also demanded the implementation of the agreement signed between the movement and the government of Balochistan, saying since Gwadar got international attention due to its economic and geographical importance, it is, therefore, need of the hour that locals would be provided all the basic facilities which they have been demanding through peaceful sit-ins under the leadership of Baloch. He said the JI had started a legal fight to release Baloch from illegal detention under a false and fabricated case and at last succeeded in it.

He said the JI believed in the rule of law and democratic process, saying the people of Pakistan should be given the opportunity to decide the country’s future course.

Sirjaul Haq stated that Jamaat-e-Islami has also challenged in the Islamabad High Court the decision of the government, on the orders of the IMF, to increase the monthly rent of gas meters from 40 rupees to 516 rupees. He said the JI would also strive to have this unjust increase reversed and deliver good news to the people. He further mentioned that Jamaat-e-Islami has been awaiting action for the past four years on the appeal filed in the Supreme Court against the 436 individuals implicated in the Panama Papers.

“No questions were asked from those individuals whose names appeared in the Pandora Papers about where they earned their wealth and how they sent it abroad.”

He said the names of all three ruling party members are included in the Panama Papers and Pandora Papers, adding the rulers looted the treasury, including Toshakhana, mercilessly. He said the country’s resources have been plundered mercilessly for 75 years.

“The courts, NAB, and other institutions have failed to hold powerful individuals accountable. Now it is up to the people, through their voting power, to hold corrupt rulers accountable.”
