NSC meeting: Liaqat Baloch welcomes political dialogue process instead of restoring to confrontation

LAHORE, May 17 (SABAH): In the National Security Committee meeting, Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami and former parliamentary leader, Liaqat Baloch has welcomed the political dialogue process instead of restoring to confrontation. He said the Parliament, judiciary, civil institutions and Armed Forces were a collective asset as well as a pride of entire nation. 

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, Liaqat Baloch said that rift among the institutions could be erased with wisdom, deep thinking and a spirit of endurance. In the constitution and law, he furthered the jurisdiction of each and every institution has been mentioned and added no institution could be allowed to exceed its limits.

He said that the country was suffering from worst economic situation and continued if the institutions remain at war with one another, they could be deserted and the masses would be buried.  He added that destruction on political and administrative fronts on large scale was due to rigging which occurs due to interference from the outside. It is the lesson of current situation that 2023’s elections should be free, fair and transparent.

He said that May 9 incidents gave a serious jerk to the entire nation, adding’ disrespecting the opposition has cultivated of seed of hatred and extremism. Responsibility to sort out these issues lies with the national and political leadership, he remarked.

In the light of declaration of National Security Council, Liaqat Baloch said an environment of sorting out issues through discussions and dialogue be created instead of propagating confrontation and added it is an examination of Armed Forces to turn the distorted and ruined situation towards the betterment and national interests.

He said that chief of Haq Do Tehreek Maulana Hidayatur Rehman has been illegally detained and added that a murder case registered against him was totally ‘false and fabricated.’  “We expect to obtain the right of Maulana’s bail from the Supreme Court of Pakistan (SCP) on May 18, 2023,” he added.
