There is a difference b/w setting a country on fire & taking up voice against injustice: Maryam Nawaz

LAHORE/LONDON, May 16 (SABAH): Chief Organiser and Senior Vice President of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Maryam Nawaz Sharif has said that there is a difference between setting a country on fire and taking up voice against the injustice.

In a statement issued here on Tuesday, Maryam Nawaz said that thw whole world saw the black day of May 09 and pubic protest staged on May 15 while paying tributes to the workers of protest on the Shahra-e-Dastoor (Constitution Avenue).

Maryam Nawaz furthered that the entire world saw the black day of May 09 and pubic protest taken out on May 15 and paid tributes to the workers of protest on Constitution Avenue. “How terrorism was committed on the directions of former prime minister and chairman Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI), each and everyone saw the reality in comparison with coming out of huge number of masses on a single call,” she remarked.

She said that there is a difference between setting a country on fire and taking up voice against the injustice and that the entire world saw the reality of PTI. On May 09, she noted armed groups of Imran perpetrated terror acts.

PML-N chief organizer said that in the aftermath of Imran Khan’s planning, schools, mosques and government buildings were set on fire and monuments of martyrs were disrespected while on May 15, neither any vehicle of media was damaged nor any journalist was tortured.

Despite the wrath against President Dr. Arif Alvi, no workers diverted his attention towards the President House as people knew this is not home of individual who violated his constitutional oath but the President House.

On May 09, Maryam Nawaz said acts of terrorism were committed by armed groups while on the other side people came out of their houses on May 15 and not even a leaf of tree was damaged. She added those are committing such acts to hide their stealing.

Meanwhile in a statement, supreme leader of PML-N and former prime minister Mian Muhammad Nawaz Sharif thanked all the workers who came for taking up their voice for an impartial and independent judiciary as well as the supremacy of constitution. He was of the view thousands of protestors set an example of democratic protest on the Constitution Avenue.

He further said that thousands of men, women and youth proved what the peaceful, democratic and public protest is. They came and left but not even a branch of tree or flowerpot was damaged as well as no building was set on fire. He added during this peaceful protest no ambulance was stopped as well as no incident of torture against police was seen.
