People of Kashmir looking towards the Int’l Community on the day of ‘Living Together in Peace’: YFK

ISLAMABAD, May 16 (SABAH): The International Day of Living Together in Peace, observed on May 16th each year, promotes world peace, tolerance, and understanding in the context of the International Day of Living Together in Peace, YFK urges the World to draw attention to India’s violations and to call for a real commitment to peace, justice, and respect for human rights in IIOJK. India has to be held accountable for gross human rights violations. We want the world community to respect the principles of peace, encourage inclusive conversation, and foster an environment supportive of the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. On this particular day, we request the G20 Countries to act decisively to advance peace in the IIOJK. The entire World should speak up and unite in their fight for independence.

In his message Zaman Bajwa, Executive Director YFK on this day of “Living Together in Peace” exclusively paid tribute to the Kashmiri people fighting for their right to live in peace. He showed his support to the brothers and sisters of IIOJK in their struggle for the right to self-determination. He added that we fear that holding the G20 conference in Srinagar will undercut the efforts of the citizens of IIOJK and worsen regional tensions. Instead of participating in the summit in Srinagar and legitimizing India’s hegemony over the entire region, the G20 countries should unite to support the people of Kashmir and advance dialogue and peace in the area.
