Pakistan pushed towards political, constitutional & serious electoral crisis: Liaqat Baloch
LAHORE, May 14 (SABAH): Naib Emir Jamaat-e-Islami and former parliamentary leader, Liaqat Baloch has said that country has been pushed towards political, constitutional and serious electoral crisis.
In his conversation during a meeting with Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Sirajul Haq on Sunday, Liaqat Baloch said that in past, confrontation among president, army chief, parliament and judiciary incurred losses to the country.
During the meeting, Liaqat Baloch discussed with Liaqat Baloch the prevailing country’s situation as well as the Jamaat-e-Islami’s strategy on the political issues. Jamaat-e-Islami’s central political council meeting was also convened on May 27 at Mansoorah.
During his meeting with office-bearers of political, electoral and public relations departments as well as with the noted journalist Dr. Hussain Ahmed who is also sick nowadays, Liaqat Baloch said that country has been pushed towards political, constitutional and serious electoral crisis. He also enquired about Dr. Hussain.
He deplored that in past, confrontation among president, army chief, parliament and judiciary incurred losses to the country and added now they are again inviting a huge destruction. He stressed on the national political leadership to be careful about this situation of the country and continued they must not be deceived by the international and national establishments.
He further stressed upon the political leadership to sort out political crisis and added that general elections were a durable and a possible treatment of the current situation.
Liaqat Baloch was of the view that each and every party of the country has the legal and constitutional right to stage protests and added that keeping the protest peaceful is the responsibility of the political party itself as well leadership. After the arrest of Imran, PTI resorted to violence which created problems for itself and exacerbated the already volatile situation, he mentioned.
He further said that suo moto notice as well as non-conventional steps of the Supreme Court of Pakistan on Imran Khan’s issue created sensationalism in the country. He urged the ruling setup Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) to normalize the situation by finding out solutions to the issues instead of staging protests and sit-ins.
