ISLAMABAD, May 07 (SABAH): Prime Minister Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif said that an investment conference will be convened to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Scotland in diverse fields, including trade, investment, education, water management, wind, and solar technology.

OM Shehbaz Sharif was talking to the media after having a meeting with First Minister of Scotland Humza Yousaf in London on Sunday.

PM Shehbaz Sharif said he held a productive conversation with Hamza Yousaf, who is a young and energetic person. He said we have agreed to enhance cooperation between Pakistan and Scotland, which is a constituent component of the United Kingdom. He said around 80,000 Pakistani diaspora is significantly contributing to the development and progress of Scotland.

Replying to a question regarding his clearance by UK’s National Crime Agency in a money laundering case, the Prime Minister said NCA investigated this matter for two years, and with the blessing of Almighty Allah, he emerged innocent in this frivolous. He said former Prime Minister Imran Khan used all tactics and wasted state money as well as precious time to defame me. He said NCA found nothing against him and now the British investigation agency has given him a clean chit in this matter.

Meanwhile in a statement issued on twitter PM Shehbaz Sharif said that unlocking economic potential of the region remains contingent on restoration of regional peace and stability. He said that the 5th Trilateral Foreign Ministers’ Dialogue held in Islamabad on Saturday  underscores the unwavering consensus of Pakistan and China to work for a peaceful, stable and prosperous Afghanistan in the interest of Afghan people. Investing in peace and stability through a collective and sustained focus will ensure win-win outcomes, including the success of initiatives aimed at greater regional connectivity and socio-economic progress, PM Shehbaz Sharif.
