For the first time in history of Pakistan, Parliament & Supreme Court are face to face with each other: Sirajul Haq

ISLAMABAD, May 4 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Sirajul Haq has said that for the first time in history of Pakistan, Parliament and Supreme Court of Pakistan were face to face with each other.

Sirajul Haq expressed these views while talking to media persons after appearing before the Supreme Court during hearing of appeal filed in connection with release of Secretary General Jamaat-e-Islami Balochistan and leader of Gwadar Ko Haq Do Movement Maulana Hidayatur Rehman Baloch here on Thursday. Deputy Chiefs of Jamaat-e-Islami Liaqat Baloch, Mian Muhammad Aslam, Dr. Farid Ahmed Paracha, Asaullah Bhutto Advocate and others were present on the occasion.

Sirajul Haq told the journalists that counsel for Jamaat-e-Islami Senator Kamran Murtaza Advocate argued that false and fabricated case was filed against chief of Gwadar Ko Haq Do Movement Maulana Hidayatur Rehman and added he was hundred percent innocent. 

To this, the court sought a report from the government on the matter, he noted and added it is expected that the court will deliver justice on the occasion of next hearing of the case in form of release of Maulana Hidayatur Rehman. He said that chief of Gwadar Ko Haq Do Movement was put behind the bars for the sake of raising voice for the fishermen and added a period of four months has passed since his arrest. 

He reiterated his resolve that Jamaat-e-Islami will keep on raising voice for the rights of Balochi people in the assemblies, courts and at each and every platform. He also demanded of holding those accountable who are found to be involved in creating issues in census in the coastal city of Karachi and other areas.

Sirajul Haq said that inflation has badly affected the masses, particularly middle class while the poor segments were in worse situation and added mafia and aristocracy who have heaps of money and foreign properties were enjoying the perks and privileges in the country. He deplored the government was not focusing pubic issues, adding alongside inflation, anarchy was badly affecting the people, especially Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
