Alkhidmat Foundation in collaboration with UMT holds grand aftaar dinner, distributes eid gifts among 2,000 orphans, widows, homeless old citizens
LAHORE, April 17 (SABAH): Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan in collaboration with UMT held grand aftaar dinner and distributed eid gifts among 2,000 orphans, widows and old citizens living in the old homes.
In the ceremony, jumping castle, face painting and magic shows were organized for the orphan children while myrtle stalls were erected for the girls. Eid money, clothes and other gifts were distributed among orphan children and old citizens. Purpose of holding the ceremony was to create awareness about the issues being confronted by the homeless old citizens of the country and the collective responsibilities of the people besides ensuring their participation in the eid pleasures.
In connection with this a ceremony was held at UMT, and was participated by Provincial Minister Local Government and Community Development, Ibrahim Hasan Murad, Secretary General Alkhidmat Foundation Pakistan Syed Waqas Jafri, Vice President Dr. Muhammad Mushtaq Ahmed Mangat, Lahore President Engineer Ahmed Hammad, Vice President Chaudhry Muhammad Saleem, representatives of youth societies, orphans, their parents and old citizens living in old homes. In the ceremony, senior manager media relations Shoaib Hashmi welcomed the guests besides handling other protocols of the event.
Addressing the ceremony, Ibrahim Hasan Murad said that orphan children and homeless old citizens should be a focus of the society as they need more attention. He appreciated the efforts of Alkhidmat Foundation to assist such segments of the society and added there is need of cooperation at individual as well as collective level to help out the downtrodden segments of the society. He advised the children to acquire education and play their role in the development of the country.
Addressing on the occasion, Syed Waqas Jafri said that Alkhidmat Foundation was serving these orphan children and the old citizens day and night and added the organization was financing orphans exceeding 2,2000 besides holding aftaar dinners. He said the Alkhidmat Foundation holding ceremonies with respect to purchasing different items for them to ensure their participation on the occasion of forthcoming Eidul Fitar while putting an end to their sense of inferiority complex.
On the occasion, Dr. Mushtaq Mangat said that participation of orphan children and helpless old individuals in the happy moments of eid is their right. While keeping in mind this spirit, volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation along with students of colleges and universities hold aftaar dinners and eid gifts ceremonies every year for orphans, their mothers, homeless men and women. He said that volunteers of Alkhidmat Foundation arrange gifts of eid and organize such an amazing fair to ensure their participation in the joys of Eid.
