Karachi’s mayor will only be from Jamaat-e-Islami: Hafiz Naeemur Rehman


KARACHI, April 9 (SABAH): Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Engineer Hafiz Naeemur Rehman while directly referring to Chairman Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) Bilawal Bhutto Zardari has stated that Jamaat-e-Islami will give its mayor to the port city of Karachi and seats snatched through forgery, fraud and rigging would be certainly taken back.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman expressed these views while addressing a public gathering and an aftaar dinner held under Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi west at Mominabad Town Muslim Abad UC-8 on Sunday. On the occasion, Deputy Secretary Karachi Abdur Razzaq Khan, Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi west Maulana Mudassar Hussain Ansari and others addressed. Earlier, Hafiz Naeemur Rehman inaugurated sasta tandoor in Mominabad Town UC-8 too.

Emir Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi said that they would protect the mandate of masses of Karachi and added the residents of Aurangi actively exercised their right of franchise in favour of Jamaat-e-Islami. He said that candidates of Jamaat-e-Islami had form 11 and form 12 but PPP changed results of the polls through fraudulent deputy returning officers (DROs) and added “we would not accept this forgery at any cost and not allow fulfilling mala-fide intentions of PPP.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman noted that PPP in connivance with Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) tried to change the results of the local bodies’ polls and committed forgery on the name of recounting. He said they have taken stay order from the Islamabad High Court and added they would take back all the seats, snatched by them through fraudulent means.

He further said that Jamaat-e-Islami will win with thumping victory on the vacant seats as well, adding if PPP would have won through fair means they would have surely accepted its mandate but the situation is totally otherwise which is not acceptable at all.

Hafiz Naeemur Rehman deplored that PPP was backed by establishment, deputy commissioner, returning officers (ROs) and deputy returning officers (DROs) and pledged to take befitting answer to PPP regarding its corruption in the offing. He said the PPP plundered money of taxes and exploited the poor tenants for making its place in the assemblies.
