Under Alkhidmat Health Foundation 45 hospitals working for provision of latest health facilities to the masses: Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif
LAHORE, April 07 (SABAH): Like whole world the World Health Day was observed in Pakistan under the World Health Organization (WHO) titled “health for all”. The purpose of observing this day is to create awareness about the health and overcome the increasing number of diseases.
While talking on the occasion Chairman Alkhidmat Health Foundation Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif said that under the Alkhidmat Health Foundation 45 hospitals, 69 medical centers, 110 laboratories and collections centers, 46 pharmacies and 305 ambulances are rendering services in whole country for provision of the latest health facilities to the masses, adding that our whole team is working day and night for this purpose.
Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif said that the number of infectious and non-infectious diseases in Pakistan have reached at the dangerous level. He said that Pakistan is at 9th position with regard to the obesity problem in the whole world, adding that Pakistan is at 5th position in the world with regard to the TB disease, adding that 510,000 people are affected from TB every year. He said that there are 2.2 million epilepsy patients present in Pakistan, adding that 24 percent population of Pakistan is facing stomach issues. He said that one in 10 persons is facing diabetes issue and due to this disease every year 200,000 people are becoming disabled.
Dr. Muhammad Zahid Latif said that according to the WHO, 17.5 million Pakistanis are facing kidney disease and annually this number is increasing by 15 to 20 percent. He said that the number of AIDS patients have crossed 200,000. He said that it is the responsibility of the government and the state to provide healthy environment to its citizens.
