Corridor & religious tourism misleading proposals on Kashmir: Farooq Rehmani

ISLAMABAD, April 04 (SABAH): “When India has trampled all the principles of humanity in Kashmir, broken international laws and resolutions, brazenly changing the Kashmir history, demography, culture & religion, running a brutal campaign of killings and lynching against the Indian Muslim , demolishing mosques , erasing every vestige of Islam and Islamic history in the regions of Kashmir and India , perpetuating its ban on religious congratulations and prayers in Jamia-Mosque Srinagar and giving Hindutva goons liberty without licence to slaughter Muslims in the name of Gaow Mata Rekhsha(Cow protection) in India, what sense is there in religious tourism and corridor diplomacy along the LoC or in Azad Jammu and Kashmir, says Muhammad Farooq Rehmani Chairman Jammu and Kashmir People’s Freedom League and ex-Convener All Parties Hurriyat Conference while giving his reaction on a resolution of corridor and move to encourage religious tourism in Azad Kashmir, which amounts to create another Amarnath of greater threat on the territory of Azad Kashmir.

If ever implemented, it will be the last ceremonial nail in the body dispute of Jammu and Kashmir, he said. He called such proposals and resolutions complementary to burying the movement of Kashmir and farcical and misleading attempts of irresponsible politics, in the context of Indian government’s ruthless campaign against the Kashmiri Muslims and Islam in both Kashmir and India. Instead, he suggested a rigorous and persistent campaign for the right of self-determination for the people of Kashmir before the UN Security Council.

Muhammad Farooq Rehmani said that the Azad Jammu and Kashmir government should not waste its time in such activities, but instead the AJ&K Assembly should adopt a serious resolution on the deteriorated human rights situation across IIOJ&K and urge upon Pakistan to kick off an international campaign in the United Nations for the implementation of the right of self-determination and emphasize upon India to repeal all such laws in Jammu and Kashmir which were repugnant to the UN resolutions and rules and principles of the august world body and finally had obstructed the UN road-map towards a just and peaceful resolution of Kashmir.
