Establishment of a fund for food aid to Afghanistan is a good step by the OIC Ministerial Meeting: Liaqat Baloch

LAHORE, Dec 20 (SABAH): Liaqat Baloch, Vice President of Jamaat-e-Islami, President of the Standing Committee on Political and National Affairs, has said that the establishment of a fund for food aid to Afghanistan is a good step by the OIC Ministerial Meeting. Had the OIC meeting unanimously declared the victory of the Afghan people and the recognition of the Taliban government, the pressure on the world powers would have increased and Afghanistan would have restored its frozen funds.

Liaqat Baloch said that peace and stability in Afghanistan and prevention of human tragedy is the most important need of not only Pakistan but also the Islamic world. The solution to the Kashmir and Palestine issue will follow the same path. The pain of unity of the Ummah and the world of Islam is in uniting with the spirit of common value. The Muslim world can be freed from the clutches of global colonial anti-Islam terrorist forces.

Liaqat Baloch in a meeting with Ameer of North Punjab Dr. Tariq Saleem and provincial and district leaders at the Central Consultative Meeting said that full preparations should be made for Punjab local body elections. A full-swing public contact campaign should be launched to record public opinion on the Scales symbol. The people’s lives should be saved from the self-interested, merely election-fighting mafia. Jamaat-e-Islami has an excellent record of public service and only Jamaat-e-Islami can provide solutions, strategies and implementation of problems in the streets and public doorsteps.

Liaqat Bloch said that PTI’s decline has come to the fore in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) local body elections. Jamaat-e-Islami candidates are running against different parties in tehsils and constituencies. Inayatullah Khan, former provincial minister and chairman of the provincial election committee, briefed on the results of 17 districts in the provincial elections.

Liaaqat Baloch welcomed Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Karachi Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman for the success of the grand public march in Karachi and the announcement of sit-in on December 31 for restoration of civil rights and protection of civil rights of the people of Karachi. In the struggle for the dominance of Islam, Jamaat-e-Islami is expressing the sentiments of the people on Da’wah، religion and public issues. The corrupt, incompetent, self-interested ruling class has impoverished the country and the people. People are deprived of justice at economic, social, societal and public level.
